The construction of industrial caster wheels is cold stamped metal with formed and welded legs on the outside surface only. Top plates and yokes are assembled with compression riveting.
Industrial caster wheels maybe injection molded plastic or urethane, or two component wheels with a plastic core and the TPR (Thermo Plastic Rubber) tire. Composite resin may also be an option. Bearings are small in diameter and are captured in the swivel section at the time they riveted in place. Finish is generally clear zinc plating. The institutional casters are designed for light use and are not built for abusive applications. These casters are made in high volume and are not customize.
